"The sky is not the limit, it's just the beginning." With this mindset, we from AEROGO set out to inspire and educate the bright minds at NK Orchid College of Engineering and Technology, Solapur. Our mission was simple yet ambitious: to spark a passion for aeromodelling and aviation in the hearts of students. Armed with our tools, materials, and deep-seated enthusiasm, we embarked on a journey that would turn imagination into reality.
The Journey Begins
We left the office at 4:00 PM, filled with anticipation for the adventure ahead. Upon reaching the station, we discovered our train was delayed by 45 minutes. Undeterred, we headed to platform 3 and eventually boarded the train.
Settling in, we enjoyed snacks, laughter, and a delightful dinner before resting for the night. At 5:30 AM, we woke up energized, arriving at Solapur station around 6:12 AM. A cab awaited us, and we soon reached the college, ready to start the day.
RC Aircraft Aeromodelling Workshop: Day 1
Our day began with a hearty breakfast and a refreshing cup of tea.
The workshop started with a warm welcome from the college. We kicked off our presentation by delving into the fundamentals of aeromodelling, covering basics such as the types and principles of aerodynamics and flight, as well as the parts of an aircraft. This was followed by an in-depth exploration of RC aircraft, discussing its history, world records, aerodynamics, control surfaces, and electronics.
Post-lunch, the hands-on session began. Students eagerly participated in the fabrication of the fuselage, wing, and tail and the assembly of the aircraft's tail.
The day's activities concluded with a taste of Solapur's famous vada pav. In the evening, we bonded with the students over dinner, a walk, and photo sessions, sharing stories and laughter before heading to bed.
RC Aircraft Aeromodelling Workshop: Day 2
The second day began with a morning tea before heading to the workshop venue. We focused on electronics integration, servo centering, and the complete assembly of the RC planes.
Students showcased their creativity, adding aesthetic touches to their planes.
After lunch, the highlight of the day was the flight tests, where students watched their creations soar.
We concluded the workshop by announcing the winners and presenting them with trophies. The day ended with bun kachori and a group photo session, capturing the joy and achievements of the past two days.

We then packed up and headed back to Solapur station. Despite another train delay, we spent time reflecting on the successful workshop, arriving in Bangalore around 10:30 AM the following day.

The workshop at NK Orchid College was more than just an educational event; it was an adventure filled with creativity, teamwork, and inspiration. The enthusiasm and dedication of the students were truly motivating, making our efforts worthwhile. As we look forward to more such workshops, we cherish the memories and the knowledge shared, knowing that we have sparked a passion for aeromodelling in the young minds of Solapur.
Reflecting on this experience, it's clear that such workshops are a testament to the power of hands-on learning and the joy it brings. As a member of AEROGO, I am proud and grateful to be part of this journey, sharing the skies and dreams with the next generation of aeromodelling enthusiasts.
